Primary Experience
Welcome to the Panyathip British International School Primary Campus. Here, our internationally qualified team of homeroom and specialist teachers guides your child through some of the most vital stages of their development, embedding academic skills that will enable them to fulfil their potential and thrive. As they progress from Year 1 to Year 6, our students steadily bolster their academic independence and social maturity until they move on from this campus firmly equipped with the skills needed to excel in a secondary school environment and beyond.
At the Primary Campus, we follow the British Primary Curriculum, an internationally recognised and comprehensive curriculum that covers core subjects and skills in depth, clearly defining each key stage of learning and the expected outcomes for learners. Through the development of essential English, Maths, and Phonics skills, our learners in Key Stage One (ages 5-7) are given the tools to extend their abilities and engage with exciting new challenges in a supportive and nurturing environment. Throughout Key Stage Two (ages 7–11), our students develop and expand their skills, exploring their own individual academic passions while also engaging with a broad range of topics and areas of study.
In addition, primary students engage with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which employs a project-based, cross-curricular and thematic approach to education. This curriculum emphasises hands-on learning, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in an engaging and dynamic environment. The IPC covers three mileposts: Milepost 1 for Years 1 and 2, Milepost 2 for Years 3 and 4, and Milepost 3 for Years 5 and 6. Each theme is carefully designed to connect various subjects in an integrated and captivating way. Themes such as ‘Chocolate,’ ‘Footprints From the Past,’ ‘From A to B,’ ‘Material World,’ and ‘Go with the Flow’ bring diverse disciplines like history, geography, science, art, music and technology into lively, interconnected explorations.
With a strong emphasis on international mindedness, the IPC helps students cultivate a deep understanding of different cultures and backgrounds. Additionally, it focuses on developing essential qualities for success in the 21st century, including morality, respect, adaptability, and perseverance.
We are proud to offer our children a wide variety of specialist subjects, led by teachers who can share their expertise in these areas. Our facilities include a swimming pool, a computer suite, a football pitch, a basketball court, a music room, and several other areas that learners will visit on a weekly basis. Whether your child is passionate about creatively participating in our art lessons or eager to develop their swimming talents, our specialist subjects provide opportunities for learners to hone their passions and explore new avenues of learning.
From our robust safeguarding procedures to our regular staff training and observations, we are wholeheartedly dedicated to providing a safe, happy, and enjoyable learning environment where children can thrive and develop the key skills essential for their future learning journey. Our school motto, “Become the Best that You Can Be,” guides everything we do here on the Primary Campus.
